Loves, can you believe spring has arrived!? Well, I know it “officially” arrived a few weeks ago, but I think Father Time forgot to give Mother Nature the memo because the snow just wouldn’t go away. Mehhhh… but whose holding grudges, right?
Summer will soon be here and that means traveling to and fro… here, there, and everywhere. Today, I’m sharing some tips on how to easily transition into summer style. My style has always been eclectic and I dress according to where I’m going and my mood.
My preppy style always shows when I’m hitting my favorite spots in New England that are near the water and have beautiful views… places I visit, such as Mystic, CT, and Newport, RI. I love the relaxed look and style of preppy clothes and growing up in New England, this style just naturally fits my adventures.
Layers. Even when the weather seems like it’s super warm, be prepared to layer as it can get cool at night and a light denim jacket or thin cardigan will be much appreciated once the sun sets. Especially if you will be near the ocean.
Always carry a pair of shoes that are versatile, like this original Sperry boat shoes.Have you ever planned a day trip, say to a restaurant, but then you find out about a cute little walking trail or ice cream shop or ocean side pier that’s just right for ending the day engrossed in some quiet moments? You know that trip. Be prepared with shoes that can be as flexible and spontaneous as you are.
Pants/Jeans/Shorts. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve gone somewhere, not knowing if it would be a hopping hotspot and I’m told:“the wait is about an hour.” Then, you turn to that person with you and say: “Now what?”. Just like the Boy Scouts say, always be prepared. Have an emergency style bag that has a pair of pants, denim jeans, and shorts. Because you just never know what may happen!
Hoping these little tips help your summer adventures go off without a hitch.
