The delight that is Zero George. I recently got back from my trip to Charleston and can I just say, it’s more charming and beautiful than I even imagined.
For this trip, I chose to stay at Zero George. Now, if you follow me on Instagram regularly and watch my stories, you know that I’ve been travel blogging more frequently the past year. I prefer to review and stay at luxury and/or boutique hotels because of the level of service offered at these types of properties. I first experienced what a boutique hotel was like after staying at the Morgans Hotel in NYC (it has since been converted to condos) several years ago for Valentine’s Day. Since then I’ve stayed pretty much exclusively at these properties.
The picturesque Zero George, did not disappoint and quite honestly far exceeded my expectations.
I stayed in the Garden Suite which had a beautiful courtyard right outside my door, a living parlor with pull out sofa bed and a study area which also doubled as a dressing room/closet. The King bedroom was beautifully appointed with luxury linens, the most comfortable bed (like legit I didn’t want to get up in the morning) sleep machine to help lull me to sleep and comfy slippers and robes.
When it comes to hotel bathrooms, I always wonder why they seem to hide the towels. I’m like, is there a towel shortage I’m not aware of people? Not at Zero George. Everywhere I looked there were towels and can I tell you that made my heart very happy. No calling down bothering the front desk. The bath and body products were from Malin + Goetz (if you haven’t tried the Malin + Goetz dark rum candle, do yourself a favor and get one stat. I reviewed it here in this candle post. You wanna know mu favorite part of the bathroom though? The heater, yup… turn the switch on before you step into the shower and after stepping out you will be pampered with warm air to bask in and keep the after shower chills at bay.
The amenities were countless from turndown service with locally baked cookies (the molasses spice cookies are my fav) to a stocked a mini bar with juice and water ( the water comes in the cutest little glass bottles).
Everyday, included with your stay, you savor in the experience of a European style continental breakfast as well as a wine and cheese hour. Both, were thoroughly enjoyed in settings that were classic in style and beauty.
From curating an environment that makes you feel like you are somewhere in the South of France to the staff and the food, Zero George leaves no stone unturned when it comes to details that their guest will appreciate and talk about for years to come.
Whether you are a millennial traveling for adventure or a couple celebrating their wedding/anniversary/romantic getaway, Zero George is the must stay hotel in Charleston for good reason!
