Christmas is gone, the fireworks have exploded on New Year’s Eve and now it’s time to settle in for the long months of winter ahead of us. Creating a home fit for getting comfortable in the colder months is pretty easy if you just surround yourself in lots of homey things that are white, pretty and cozy. This vignette I put together on one of my favorite trays, says winter to me. The cotton stems are soft like snow and the blue hues remind me of ice and blue winter skies after a fresh snow storm. I’m all about texture and with the leaves off the trees texture is all around us during the winter. Try incorporating branches somehow into your decor. Here I used cotton stems, sold in my shop, that I put in a rustic galvanized pitcher I found at a flea market. I love the beautiful texture that they both create and how the cotton stems play off of the aged metal. Try heading out to your backyard and gathering some tree branches from the ground, these will work will too. Aqua mason jars are pretty props that can be found at flea markets or online at Etsy. I’m all about getting cozy on my white sofa and nothing says cozy than comfy pillows and throws. Surround yourself with them in front of a movie with hot cocoa in a pretty mug and candles or a fire going. Doesn’t that sound lovely. Yes, I would agree. Follow me on Instagram for more inspiration. Happy Saturday!
