Going to the movies … it’s that perfect date night, family outing or, oh yeah, time to go take in a chick flick you don’t want to drag your hubby to!
A few weeks back, Scott and I ventured out to see “Jurassic World” and it was so good! It certainly didn’t disappoint. The best part about visiting Showcase Cinemas for us though is getting to experience power operated, fully reclining chairs with swivel tables…AND get this, you can reserve the seats in advance. That’s right, say “see ya” to arriving 45 minutes early just to make sure you have a seat of your choosing. All I was missing was a cozy throw blanket!
Once we got there we also learned that several NY theaters recently received a ton of amazing renovations including new Showcase Cinema de Lux signage and re-seated auditoriums. The new and beautiful renovations are below, along with a few more updates they’ve received recently:
Showcase Cinema de Lux Cross County (Yonkers, NY)
- 10 renovated auditoriums
- New concessions and a lobby refresh
- An “all-in-one” concession experience – allowing you to buy your favorites, like popcorn, candy, and soda, along with Nathan’s Famous hotdogs, pretzels, and pizza… all in one transaction!
- A new Coke Freestyle machine, giving you tons of choices in an interactive format (touchscreen dispenser!).
Showcase Cinema de Lux City Center 15 (White Plains, NY)
- 15 renovated auditoriums
- IMAX Experience, with a refurbished auditorium!
College Point Multiplex Cinemas (Whitestone, NY)
- 12 renovated auditoriums
For New York movie-goers, when heading to the movies, you can now see highly anticipated films like “The Spy Who Dumped” me or the newly released “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Mission Impossible – Fallout.” Honestly loves, this is movie viewing taken to the next level.
